An important aspect of empowering design is leading the team to embrace but balance the insights coming from Engineering, Product, Business, DS and vice versa
There is only one thing worse than fighting with allies and that is fighting without them.
- Winston Churchill
For a long time i felt UX Design "deserved" a seat at the table and slowly came to the realisation with experience that i need to change my perspective to one that says "Those who add value automatically get the seat". When Design works with the purpose of adding value not just to the end user but also to business or the end goal of the organisation, it automatically becomes an indespensible part of the system.
Some initiatives to foster Design lead thinking in Business, Product, Engineering and DS

Creating a common forum for sharing User Research findings
Conducting a few user interviews which are open for all to attend, increases empathy among those that are not actively involved in the process.Invariably this lead to everyone thinking more about the user needs, hence leading to more acceptance for many design suggestions
